VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI LODGE
Victoria Falls Safari Lodge
Thinking of booking a stay at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge? Here’s why it’s voted the best lodge in Zimbabwe.
When we finally made it to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, during our southern Africa road trip, we knew we had to stay at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is Africa Albida Tourism’s flagship property and has been voted the Best Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe for 23 consecutive years.
Tip:
Victoria Falls is just 1 hour away from Chobe, so you can easily check off two bucket list items during one trip like I did!

Beginning from when you first arrive, welcome drink in hand, the staff at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is amazing, friendly, and so helpful. They even offer shuttles to the 4km-away Victoria Falls.
Our favorite part was watching the waterhole from our very own balcony, as elephants, impalas, kudus, baboons, and warthogs stopped by.
There’s nothing like getting to watch these beautiful animals right from the comfort of your suite on the edge of Zambezi National Park, so make sure you book a waterhole-facing room.

The lodge is built of thatch and timber, rising high above the vast, supreme wilderness of Zambezi National Park, making sure you never forget the closeness of the bush even as you rest in luxury.
Their two-tiered swimming pool feels like an oasis in the bush from where you can count the number of visiting impala, order an ice-cold drink, or laze in the sun.
Even the gym has a waterhole view, so you can work up a sweat while watching the elephants! (Not that I did. You’ll have to take Arlton’s word on that).
Mornings were one of our favorite parts of staying at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge with their fantastic breakfasts. Think of a pancake bar, a hot breakfast buffet, a menu of egg dishes made to order, a cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit (granadilla!) bar, baked goods, and a dried fruits and nuts station.
The best croissants I’ve had weren’t in France; they were from Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
At night, dine at their MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant with a view of the floodlit waterhole, or try a buffet of local dishes at their famous Boma Dinner & Drum Show.
When you stay at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge (because I know you will after reading this), don’t miss their Vulture Culture program at 1 pm daily! Vulture Culture is a unique project to protect endangered species of vultures like the Marabou stork, White-backed vultures, and Hooded vultures. You can’t miss the circling of vultures over the lodge and the heavy, dark wings flapping in the trees before 1 pm.
The purpose of Vulture Culture is to track the population and encourage the vultures to stay closer to the edge of town instead of farther into the bush where poachers are more likely to poison them.
